A Chicago Transit Authority worker has been arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting a man after an altercation at a Windy City transit station over the weekend, police said.
The 53-year-old worker, identified as Sylvester Adams, was arrested shortly after he allegedly shot a 37-year-old man around 2am. Saturday morning at the 95th/Dan Ryan Red Line stop.
Police say Adams and the victim got into a fight after the man bothered customers at the train station.

The argument turned physical: the victim pushed Adams to the ground, police said.
After the victim fled down the stairs, Adams allegedly pulled out a gun and shot him multiple times, police said.
The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition with gunshot wounds to the back, stomach and left leg, police said.
CTA said the worker was employed as a customer assistant and was not permitted to carry a firearm.
“Based on our investigation, we can also confirm that this employee violated several CTA work rules, including one that specifically prohibits possession of a firearm,” the agency said in a statement.
The CTA is “following the resolve” of Adams, the agency said.
