A court heard the cruel mother repeatedly lie about how the child had become “lazy and numb” when she finally took him to the hospital.
Due to the severity of her injuries, doctors later concluded that the child had been assaulted and Ngaba eventually admitted to beating her son, but claimed he had no intention of harming him.
The jury learned how the young woman had suffered “mortal and fatal injuries” from her monstrous mother and that the atrocious assault of November 2019 “had definitely destroyed her quality of life”.
Telford-based Twisted Ngaba was sentenced to 14 years in prison at Stafford Crown Court on Monday after being convicted of intentional assault.
Warren Stanier of the Crown Prosecution Service later said: “Sarah Ngaba’s actions have permanently destroyed the quality of her baby’s life.
“Your child is severely disabled and will be completely dependent on others for the rest of his life.”
She said the accused “had changed accounts several times” in an attempt to blame the baby’s father, who was absent at the time of the Brookside attack.
West Mercia Police Department Investigative Inspector Jo Whitehead added: “This is a significant sentence for such a heartbreaking case.
“Ngaba behaved completely opposite to what you would expect from a caring mother.
“Her horrific actions have resulted in her daughter’s quality of life in the future being definitely compromised.
