Nicholas Languerand Biography                Nicholas Languerand Wiki

A South Carolina man accused of throwing objects at police officers during the deadly riot on the United States Capitol in January has been charged with multiple federal offenses.

Nicholas Languerand, 26, was arrested by the FBI in April at a house in Little River. A grand jury found there was sufficient evidence to indict him on seven counts, including attacking, resisting or interfering with certain officers with a dangerous weapon, physical violence in a confined or compound building with a deadly, or dangerous weapon and a Capitol building, according to Federal Court documents received by news agencies.

Previous evidence presented to the court alleged that Languerand threw “a variety of objects,” including a traffic stop, at police officers on January 6, according to a statement by the District of Columbia attorney. A trick led authorities to a social media post in which Languerand was allegedly present during the riot, according to a complaint in the case.

Languerand was not from South Carolina, but after the riot he moved from Vermont to a relative’s home in Little River, a coastal town north of Myrtle Beach.

Several other South Carolina residents were arrested in connection with the riot in which a mob entered the United States Capitol, hid lawmakers, and delayed confirmation of President Joe’s election victory Biden.

Languerand was taken to a Washington detention center where a judge ordered him to keep him in jail. It was not immediately clear if he had a lawyer to speak on his behalf.
