Her three-year-old sister, found alive in the house, appears to have attempted to care for the baby before she died.
The coroner discovered that edibles, including dried eggs and eggshells, had been found in and around his car seat.
Authorities were first alerted after a security guard visited their home on February 9 and found the apartment locked.
The security guard called 911 after looking out the window and seeing the spears lying on the floor and the girl walking into the house.
Officers found Spears’ body on the bathroom floor and drug paraphernalia in the house.
Nicholas was found strapped to his car seat on the bedroom floor.
The girl was taken to hospital for treatment.
Authorities had always suspected that Spears had died of an overdose. Her toxicology report is back, showing signs of methamphetamine and fentanyl in her system.
When the bodies were discovered, there were other drug-related deaths at the rented house, authorities said.
It was not immediately clear whether these deaths were linked to former tenants.
