They quoted a woman describing the young man’s final moments as a man allegedly “escaped” from the scene. The unnamed neighbor reportedly said: “The little girl was playing with her little sister in the street when it happened. They had toys out there.”
His wheelchair was abandoned in the street as paramedics in an ambulance struggled to save his life, a witness said.
A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said today: “We can now confirm the identity of the nine-year-old girl who sadly died in Boston yesterday as Lilia Evalyte. She died in Fountain Lane, which we believe was a stab wound.”
Footage of the scene confirmed earlier reports that the incident appeared to have happened on the street rather than on a property in Fountain Lane. The nine-year-old girl died instantly from her injuries.
The girl’s parents were informed about the incident yesterday and are being assisted by specialized agents.
Conservative Congressman from Boston and Skegness Matt Warman said he was in touch with the police secretary to ensure national support was available for the murder investigation.
“Deeply shocking news in Boston tonight,” he told Mr. Warman. “I have spoken to senior officials at the scene and I am extremely grateful for the work the emergency services are doing.
