A New Jersey police officer has been arrested for allegedly running a meth lab at his home, prosecutors said.

Christopher Walls, 50, was taken into custody after his colleagues at the Long Branch Police Department answered a phone call about domestic disturbances at his home on Saturday night, the county prosecutor said in a statement from hurry. Monmouth Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

“Our agency officials risk their lives every day to protect and serve our residents,” Rizzuto said in a statement. “It is extremely disappointing that one of our officials could have endangered the safety of his family and neighbors by engaging in such dangerous behavior. The actions of this official do not reflect the moral compass of our officials or of this agency. “
