Ash Harkin Said ?
Detective Ash Harkin of the Met’s Violent Crime Task Force said, “What started as a proactive shutdown of a vehicle has resulted in a loaded gun and many shots, and the reality is that every bullet we take could be a lifetime.
“We know that drugs not only harm communities but also cause high levels of violence on the streets and we will continue to relentlessly persecute those who supply them in the capital.
“This investigation involved several teams within the VCTF who are working together to bring Ahktar to justice.
“Reducing violence remains our top priority and the authorities travel to London every day to remove dangerous weapons and attack perpetrators of violent crimes.”
Ahktar was convicted by Harrow Crown Court after pleading guilty to, among other things, possessing a firearm, ammunition and drugs with intent to surrender.
Two other men were arrested during the same vehicle stop and released as part of the investigation.
